There were no subsidiaries, divisions or multiple profit centers. Billing values were not discussed – value to the client was paramount.
Agency people were multi-disciplined and multi-talented; writers sang in bands, account managers had art shows.
It was hard to tell the difference between an agency CEO and an assistant AE. They were both working on client business, often side by side.
